The story of John Wilmot (Depp), a.k.a. the Earl of Rochester, a 17th century poet who famously drank and debauched his way to an early grave, only to earn posthumous critical acclaim for his life's work.
Johnny Depp again shows how great an actor he is in his portrayal of this complex and tragic character. A definite rec.
This movie is so sick how could I not like it?
Actually, I found it incredibly boring at first. I was ready to press stop and go to bed, but the movie has gotten some good reviews, so I decided to stick around. Glad I did. Even if I have to admit some scenes where to much for me (I never thought I´d said that about a horror movie) it is good. In a sick and twisted way.
